ABOUT TIGERGALV
HOT-DIP ZINC COATED STEEL IN COILS & SHEETS

TIGERGALV is Tiger Steel's range of galvanised coil and sheet products. We can also provide galvanised products for structural items, such as Square Hollow Sections and Rectangular Hollow Sections upon request.
Galvanised steel is mild steel with a coating of zinc. It has a smooth and uniform coating that provides great corrosion resistance to the base metal. The zinc provides cathodic protection to the exposed steel, so if the surface is damaged, the zinc will corrode instead.

CHARACTERISTICS COMPARE TIGERGALV TO OTHER COATINGS

1=Lowest, 5=Highest
The standard coating for TIGERGALV in New Zealand is Z275 for general use in moderate environments. In more severe environments we recommend using Z450 or items from the GALPHA range.

LABORATORY SALT SEA SPRAY TESTS
The purpose is to predict the corrosion resistance (plane & formed). The test standard used was as per ASTM B 117 with a salt solution concentration of 5 +/-1% at a temperature between 33.3-36.1 degrees celsius. Sample condition was for plane: 75mm x 150mm
and for 0T bending: 75mm.

TIGERGALV can also be supplied with a chromate-free nano anti-microbial treatment, which creates an Anti-Microbial environment.
It terminates fungi and bacteria growth which gives rise to odour, staining, food poisoning and allergies.
The additives are able to penetrate microbes cell walls and disrupt their cell structure, stopping reproduction. It also forms a durable film, which is not easily wiped off or washed away. It is also a green certified product, which is RoHS compliant and contains no hexavalent chromium compounds and no mercury compounds and minimal amounts of cadmium and lead
It is highly suitable for the following applications:
Air ducting systems, HVAC systems, partitions, walk-in coolers, freezers. Suitable for ventilation systems in hospitals, schools, laboratories, biomedical factories, semiconductor factories, food production facilities, commercial buildings like restaurants, shopping malls and public facilities such as airports and bus and train stations and residential and nursing homes.
Bacteria inhibited include but not limited to:
Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Legionella pneumonia, Corynebacterium diphtheriae and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus.
Fungi inhibited include but not limited to:

Aspergillus brasiliensis, Penicillium funiculosum, Chaetomium globosum, Tricoderma virens and Aureobasidium pullulans.
